A fresh start
in its finest form

We believe that offcuts of the premium wood we use in the manufacture of our sharpeners deserve a second life. That’s why we craft an exclusive end-grain board that continues the story of your HORL ®3: the HORL ® Board.

A new life for
high-quality wood offcuts

The wood we use in our sharpeners experiences a great deal. After years of growing in the forest, evident from its beautiful grain, we dry it for several days, which makes it extremely hard wearing. All this beauty and resilience also applies to the offcuts of walnut and oak from our HORL ®3 production –
and these are given a new life in the HORL ® Board.

Made in the Black Forest
for a long life

Offcuts are produced during the woodturning process to make the grips of our sharpeners. These scraps of wood are first chopped to size with millimetre precision and with elaborate handcraft are carefully glued and pressed together under high pressure. After a period of weeks, this results in a unique kitchen board, which we then seal with oil. Given the proper care the board will retain its qualities for a long life.
